Meet Ms. Nyla Walker – Okemah HS 2023 Acidemic All Start (Click Here)

Nyla Walker

Nayla is the daughter of Kurtis and Tiffany Walker and the granddaughter of Kay Coale, the late William Earl Walker, Bill Coale, James Toumbs, and the late Marcy Toumbs. Her hobbies include reading, writing, music/musical theatre, drawing, and going to the movies.

She is on the OHS track team and placed top 15 at girls’ weightlifting state. She is a member of Gear Up, Upward Bound, Beta Club, Oklahoma Honor Society, and National Honor Society.

She has been in several shows at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, including RENT, Grease, and Into the Woods. After high school, she will attend the University of Tulsa to major in graphic design, all while working in musical theatre on the side. She has received many scholarships and awards from TU, including the highest academic scholarship offered. Nyla’s best memories of school are finding out she made it to state in weightlifting and her time spent with her closest friends.
