Sophomore Showcase: Exploring Career Pathways at Wes Watkins Technology Center

The Wes Watkins Technology Center in Wetumka, OK, hosted the Sophomore Showcase on October 23rd and 24th. This annual event welcomed sophomores from partnering high schools across their district to explore the various programs offered at the tech center. Students were given the opportunity to select two different programs of their interest and engage in hands-on activities. The goal was to give them a real feel for the types of courses they could pursue during their junior and senior years of high school at Wes Watkins Tech Center.

By participating in these programs, students can not only earn high school credits but, in many cases, complete certification programs that are recognized in their respective industries. This makes it possible for students to enter the workforce with valuable skills and certifications immediately after graduation. The event provided a unique opportunity for students, potential students, and partner school employees to gain insights into the educational and career prospects available at Wes Watkins Tech Center.
