Wes Watkins Technology Center Invites Families to Halloween Trick-or-Treat Trail October 31

Rain or Shine — Indoor Halloween Fun for the Entire Family!

WETUMKA, OKLAHOMA — Halloween is just around the corner, and Wes Watkins Technology Center is preparing to welcome families and children from surrounding communities for its annual Trick-or-Treat Trail on Saturday, October 31, from noon until 2 p.m.

And with rain in the forecast, organizers want everyone to know one important thing: The event will take place rain or shine, with all activities held indoors!

During a recent visit to Wes Watkins Technology Center, YCCUON’s Jerry Riley sat down with Merida Tomb to discuss the upcoming Halloween celebration and what visitors can expect.

According to Tomb, the Trick-or-Treat Trail is much more than an opportunity for children to collect Halloween candy. It’s also a chance for families to explore the technology center and discover the many educational and career training opportunities available.

“Our trick-or-treat trail is a really great event that we put on for our communities,” Tomb explained during the interview.

The trail will take visitors throughout the campus, including all four buildings, where families can see classrooms, technical shops, and training laboratories while enjoying Halloween festivities.

More Than Just Trick-or-Treating

While the children enjoy collecting candy, parents and other visitors will have an opportunity to meet Wes Watkins instructors and staff, ask questions, and learn about the center’s career and technical education programs.

Tomb explained that visitors interested in attending Wes Watkins can learn how to enroll, what skills they might develop, and what career opportunities could follow completion of a program.

The event also provides an opportunity for community members who may never have visited the campus to see firsthand the facilities and educational resources available to area students.

During the interview, Riley noted that Wes Watkins Technology Center continues to demonstrate its commitment to the community through activities such as the Sophomore Showcase and the upcoming Halloween celebration.

A Few Halloween Surprises?

Of course, no Halloween event would be complete without a little mystery.

When Riley asked whether visitors might encounter anything spooky along the trail, Toomb smiled and suggested there might be a surprise or two.

“Maybe a surprise here or there,” she said, adding that she didn’t want to give too much away.

It sounds like visitors will simply have to come and find out!

Rain or Shine — The Fun Goes On!

With the possibility of rainy weather on Halloween, families can make their plans knowing that the Trick-or-Treat Trail will be held entirely indoors.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their children, invite friends, and wear their favorite Halloween costumes.

The event is open to everyone, and families are welcome to come and go anytime between noon and 2 p.m.
