The Rodeo Restaurant – Okmulgee, OK
915 e Hickory, Okmulgee, OK, United States,
At The Rodeo Restaurant, you’ll find more than just a good meal — you’ll find the best homestyle cooking in the county and authentic Mexican flavors, all served with a side of local pride. From Chicken Fried Steak with hot rolls and honey butter to bold south-of-the-border favorites, every dish is made just the way you remember — like sitting at your grandma’s table.
The man behind it all is Eldon Day, a true hometown guy born and raised in Okmulgee County. His love of rodeo began in 1974 when he met legendary Roy Duvall. Steer wrestling became his passion, and over the next two decades, Eldon made his mark as both a champion Steer Wrestler and later a skilled Hazer. He trained horses, competed across associations like CRA, CRRA, and IPRA, and earned three championship titles.
After stepping away from the rodeo arena, Eldon turned his focus to entrepreneurship, opening El Don’s Mexican Restaurant and later founding The Rodeo. The restaurant’s décor pays tribute to his rodeo roots, with walls lined with cowboy, cowgirl, 4-H, and FFA photos.
At The Rodeo, we keep it simple: good food, done right — every single time.
