About Doug and Nancy Wadley – Owners Shoney’s Henryetta, OK

Shoney’s in Henryetta, OK, located at 610 E. Main St., offers a warm and inviting dining experience. Known for its all-day breakfast and delicious comfort foods, Shoney’s has become a local favorite. Popular menu items include fried chicken, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and a variety of soups. Customers can also enjoy burgers, sandwiches, and milkshakes. The restaurant, seating 200, prides itself on excellent service and a family-friendly atmosphere. Shoney’s brings a sense of home and community to its patrons, making it a beloved spot for families and locals.

Doug and Nancy Wadley, owners of Shoney’s in Henryetta, have deep-rooted memories of the restaurant that stretch back to Doug’s childhood. Growing up, Doug and his family would often stop at the Shoney’s in Tulsa during hunting and fishing trips. Later, as adults, Doug and Nancy made it a tradition to visit Shoney’s for breakfast during family holidays in Branson. Their long-held affection for the restaurant’s warm atmosphere and hearty meals eventually inspired them to open a Shoney’s franchise of their own.

Two years ago, the Wadley’s purchased the Shoney’s franchise after acquiring the old Colonial Motel and Restaurant in Henryetta, which had been a local landmark since the 1960s. When deciding what to do with the property, they remembered the welcoming hospitality of Shoney’s and felt it was a perfect fit for their community. “We wanted to share that same warmth and friendliness we always felt at Shoney’s with our neighbors here,” Doug said.

Doug and Nancy, who have lived in Henryetta for over 40 years, have always been active members of the community. Prior to owning Shoney’s, they ran a pizza business and a convenience store in town. Their commitment to the community extends beyond business, as they regularly donate to local schools and charities. Their goal is to make Shoney’s not just a restaurant, but a place where everyone feels at home.

The 6,500-square-foot restaurant seats 200 people and employs 39 staff members, all of whom take great pride in offering excellent customer service. Doug believes that building relationships with customers is key to their success. “If you don’t deliver with good service and make connections with your customers, they won’t come back,” he said.

Shoney’s in Henryetta offers more than just food; it provides an experience that keeps customers coming back. Whether you’re enjoying their famous all-day breakfast, comfort classics like fried chicken and meatloaf, or a hearty turkey club sandwich, the Wadley’s aim to make every meal memorable. With their love for the community and dedication to quality, Doug and Nancy Wadley have made Shoney’s in Henryetta a beloved gathering spot for locals.
