Area Third Graders Visit Wes Watkins Technology Center for the Annual Scratch ‘n Patch Hospital Program

Third-grade students from area schools visited Wes Watkins Technology Center in Wetumka for the annual Scratch ‘n Patch Hospital program, learning what to expect during hospital visits through fun, interactive activities.

Each year, Wes Watkins Technology Center in Wetumka, Oklahoma hosts a unique and engaging event known as Scratch ‘n Patch Hospital, designed especially for third-grade students from participating area schools. The program provides young students with an opportunity to visit the campus and experience an interactive learning activity that combines education with hands-on fun.

During the event, students participate in a simulated hospital experience that helps them better understand what happens when someone needs medical care. Through demonstrations and role-playing activities, students learn about common medical procedures such as checkups, treating minor injuries, and the importance of healthcare professionals. The goal is to help remove some of the fear and uncertainty children may feel about visiting a hospital or doctor.
